Why was YNW Melly arrested?

YNW Melly’s arrest was made after a five-month investigation. Apparently, the night his two friends were killed, YNW Bortlen dropped William and Thomas off at Memorial Hospital located in Miramar, Fa at around 4:25 a.m. They suffered multiple gunshot wounds at the time. YNW Bortlen claimed they were shot in a drive-by shooting incident and the assailants were unknown. After investigating the case for five months, police assumed that YNW Melly was the alleged shooter and that he allegedly shot two of his friends. Rapper Bortlen was sent to Houston and extradited to Florida for murder and accessory to murder. Miramar Police said at the time: ‘Jamell Demons aka YNW Melly and Cortlen Henry have been arrested and charged with two counts of first degree murder. The victims, Anthony Williams and Christopher Thomas Jr., were killed on 10/26/2018. The investigation, supported by forensic evidence, concluded that Demons shot and killed Williams and Thomas Jr. and that Demons and Henry staged the crime scene to resemble a drive-by shooting.
