Following further investigations into the case, Walter James Hayes, 60, a resident of Myrtle Beach, was detained and placed under arrest in connection with the case.

Hayes is charged with the following: Driving without a license for the first time, fleeing the scene of an accident which resulted in death. Hayes is currently in police custody and his bail application for fleeing the scene of a fatal accident was denied early Sunday morning.
