Vivek Ramaswamy says he desires Trump to be his MENTOR when he’s president – and says Iowa State Fair rap was a option to ‘reach young people’
Vivek Ramaswamy stated he has had no dialogue with Donald Trump about becoming a member of his ticket as VP, however stated he would take the previous president’s recommendation if he wins in 2024.
The longshot candidate has gained some momentum within the polls, however continues to be a good distance from the No. 1 spot for the GOP nomination.
As the first candidates descended on the Iowa State Fair this week, Ramaswamy stood out when he broke out in an impromptu rendition of Eminem’s Lose Yourself after telling Governor Kim Reynolds that the rap is his favourite tune.
“During this campaign, we all had to have a little fun,” Ramaswamy informed Fox’s Sunday Morning Futures host Maria Bartiromo the day after the spectacle.

Ramaswamy joked that his marketing campaign is “reaching young people” when he spoke about his impromptu rap of Eminem’s Lose Yourself on the Iowa State Fair on Saturday
He added: ‘On a more serious note, Maria, one of the things we’re doing on this marketing campaign is we’re reaching younger individuals. We take them en masse. The distinction between an electoral margin of fifty.1 this cycle and a landslide is younger individuals. And I believe this could’t simply be a 50.1 Democrat versus Republican tug of struggle.
“This has to be a landslide (victory),” the biotech millionaire insisted.
Many have speculated that some longshot candidates, akin to Ramaswamy, are literally getting into the presidential race as a option to apply for a job as Donald Trump’s vp or turn into a part of his cupboard if he wins in 2024.
Ramaswamy has denied this and says he’s going for the nomination.
While the Indian-American entrepreneur and writer stated he wouldn’t think about a job in former President Trump’s cupboard, he hasn’t shot down the prospects of working as his No. 2 as soon as the first race is over.
“I have not spoken to (Trump) about his membership in his cabinet, and I have not spoken to him about his membership in mine,” Ramaswamy informed Bartiromo on Sunday morning.
“I started in March with 0.0 percent,” stated the candidate. “And now I’m in third place in the Republican national primaries ahead of the first debate, on the same trajectory as Trump in 2015.”
“So, Maria, I expect to be the nominee. I expect to win this election by force majeure.’
Ramaswamy added that he has not joined some of the other candidates in attacking Trump because he “respects” the ex-president and “thinks he was an excellent president.”
“And we have a good relationship of mutual respect,” he added. “I expect him to be an advisor, even a mentor of sorts, when I’m in the White House teaching me where the bodies are buried, how to go further than he went.”
“That’s my mission with our America First agenda. And that’s the connection I count on.’
