The younger brother of well-known NRL star Payne Haas has been arrested after allegedly trying to smuggle more than $1 million worth of meth into New South Wales.

Payne Haas’ teenage brother has reportedly been caught trying to smuggle $1 million worth of methamphetamine from Queensland into New South Wales.

Zeda Haas, 19, was arrested at 11.45am on Tuesday in Beresfield, west of Newcastle, for allegedly trying to convey 1.8kg of ice into the state.

NSW Police confirmed they stopped the couple on Apprentice Close in Beresfield earlier than allegedly discovering the obvious medicine, which have an estimated avenue worth of more than $1 million.

“Both men were arrested at the scene and taken to Maitland Police Station,” the assertion mentioned.
