SHAKIRA and her children will return to Barcelona tomorrow, just two months after leaving Spain to start a new life in Miami.
The She Wolf singer, 46, is due to land in the Catalan capital on Sunday, where she has called home for more than a decade.
Her sons Milan, 10, and Sasha, 8, will join her on the grueling journey before she hands them over to her former footballer Gerard Pique.
Shakira is expected to spend a few days with her children and then fly to visit her elderly father William Mebarak in Colombia.
He is expected to undergo surgery in their hometown of Barranquilla.
Shakira delayed her explosive move to Miami due to her father’s fragile health, as she desperately sought a clean break.
The Colombian singer finally took the plunge and moved on in April following her messy split from Pique.
His surprise return was reportedly spurred by reports the former Barcelona ace was planning to travel to Florida to visit his children as part of their custody deal.
But it was feared he was bringing his new girlfriend, Clara Chia Marti, 24, with him for the family reunion.
Pique will now spend a few weeks with his two boys before returning to the United States, according to Spanish media.
He is allowed to spend holidays with his children as part of the custody agreement they reached in November last year.
It is believed that Shakira’s wish to move to Miami was one of the underlying sticking points in their previous failure to reach an out-of-court settlement.
Pique has kept a low profile in recent weeks after he was spotted romancing Clara with red roses during a romantic trip to Dubai.
Ironically, it was where Shakira sought solace with their two sons, Milan and Sasha, over Christmas as their bitter separation unfolded.
But the mum is now fending off a host of stars who want to drink and dine her.
Shakira reportedly begged Tom Cruise to leave her alone and stop flirting with her after the couple’s F1 reunion sparked dating rumours.
Spanish media reported that the Mission Impossible actor, 60, was “absolutely mesmerized” by the singer and even told a close circle of friends he felt a connection to her.
It comes amid speculation that Lewis Hamilton was trying to schmooze the newly single popstar after being spotted on several outings.
The F1 legend showed his chivalry when he took her out for a day boat trip with friends in Miami – picking her up from the back of his £12million beach mansion.
Shakira appears to have found solace in the United States after leaving behind her former life in Barcelona “in search of happiness”.
The singer-songwriter was reportedly ‘kicked out’ of her home by Pique’s father before he left for Miami.
She was pictured saying a tearful goodbye to family and friends as she boarded a private plane.
The mother had lived in the town before meeting Pique but returned when she started a relationship with him after appearing in the Waka Waka video for the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.
Shakira said she moved there to “give stability to her sons”, but said they are now looking for her “in another corner of the world”.
She announced her split from footballer Gerard Pique last May after spending 11 years together.
The singer will have to return to Spain in November as she has been ordered to stand trial in a £13million tax evasion case.
The “Hips Don’t Lie” singer could face more than eight years in prison after rejecting a July 2022 plea deal on tax evasion charges.
She claimed she didn’t live in Spain during the years in question while her then-partner Gerard Pique was playing for Barcelona.
According to the prosecutor’s office, in 2012, 2013 and 2014, Shakira spent more than 183 days a year in the country, making her a tax resident.
She was previously only a tax resident in the Bahamas and was only registered as a full tax resident in Spain in 2015.
