Sea turtle nesting season begins in Florida

Wednesday marks the primary day of sea turtle nesting season in Florida.

People on the coast might begin seeing nesting areas marked off on the seashores.

It’s unlawful to intervene with the nests in any method.

Residents on the coast may even want to stick to lighting restrictions.

Sea turtles use the moon to navigate, and synthetic mild can disorient them.

So, houses alongside the coast should flip off outdoors lights and preserve their blinds closed at evening.

Anyone who sees violations that might affect sea turtle nesting is requested to name the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission Division of Law Enforcement at 1-888-404-FWCC or *FWC.
