Police fatally shoot gun-wielding man on Brooklyn street

Police officers shot and killed a Brooklyn man who was seen pointing a gun at one other man within the street in a single day in East Flatbush.

NYPD Chief of Department Jeff Maddrey stated throughout a information convention that two officers in a cop automotive patrolling East Flatbush round 1:15 a.m. noticed a man standing within the street pointing a gun at one other man.

Officers exited their car and approached the man, who was standing at East 52nd Street and Church Avenue, ordering him to drop his weapon.

The man began to run and one of many officers “momentarily stunned” him with a Taser, Maddrey stated.

“The male got back up, he still had the gun in his hand,” Maddrey stated.

“He runs back on the sidewalk. He runs back to 52nd Street. The officers give further commands for the male to drop his gun and they fire their weapons.”

After firing their weapons, the man fell to the bottom and officers subdued him, Maddrey added.

Officers carried out CPR earlier than the man was taken to Kings County Hospital, the place he later died from his accidents.

Maddrey didn’t present the sufferer’s identify, particulars of the place he was shot or what number of gunshot wounds he sustained.

Police stated a bystander might have been grazed by the officers’ bullets.

“About an hour and half after this incident occurred, another male walked into a local hospital with a graze wound and he said he was in the vicinity of this area,” Maddrey stated.

“So this will be part of the investigation to see if this male was actually hit at this location.”

The investigation is ongoing, Maddrey stated.
