Perry’s Hazel Stone is this week’s LSJ ‘Student of the Week’

School districts throughout the Lansing space nominated college students to be acknowledged as excessive achievers in the Lansing State Journal.

This week’s Student of the Week contest featured 5 highschool college students from Ovid-Elsie, Perry, Lansing Christian, Morrice and DeWitt.

The subsequent ballot will probably be energetic Monday, May 6, at 7 a.m.

Winner: Hazel Stone, Perry High School

Hazel was not too long ago elected to be the faculty’s Future Farmers of America Chapter President for 2024-2025 and in addition elected to serve 16 colleges throughout seven counties as the Michigan FFA Region IV President. Her forestry group competed at the State FFA Skills contest and obtained a “Silver” award.

Other college students acknowledged:

Dominic Kline, Ovid-Elsie High School: Dominic is a senior and member of National Honor Society. He competes in the Future Farmer of America State Skills contest, which focuses on agriculture and management. Kline is a member of the faculty’s varsity golf group and gained two class superlatives for the class of 2024: “Most School Spirit” and “Most Likely to Brighten Your Day.”

Elly Ritter, Lansing Christian School: Elly at present takes a cosmetology class at the Wilson Talent Center in Mason. She not too long ago attended the SkillsUSA statewide competitors in Grand Rapids and positioned third in cosmetology. Elly is a member of the varsity soccer group and in addition has a excessive GPA, Lansing Christian’s Athletic Director Dan Carmichael stated.

In her free time, she likes to learn, hang around with buddies and spend time exterior.
