Odisha Train Crash Viral Video: Coromandel Express train derailed in Balasore area of Odisha on Friday after colliding with a freight train. Several people were considered dead.
Reports say at least 30 people died in the accident, which took place near Bahanaga station in Balasore. The state government launched a rescue operation. The accident happened around 7:20 p.m. as the train was en route from Shalimar station near Kolkata to Chennai Central Station.
The injured were taken to hospitals in Balasore. National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and Odisha Rapid Response Force (ODRAF) are carrying out the rescue mission. Three NDRF units, four ODRAF units and 60 paramedics were sent to help.
Reports say that 47 injured people were taken to Balasore Medical College. Meanwhile, 132 injured people have been transferred to Soro CHC, Gopalpur CHC and Khantapada PHC.

Sudhanshu Sarangi, head of the Odisha fire service, was reportedly tasked with overseeing the rescue operations. SRC Odisha along with senior officers Hemant Sharma, Balwant Singh, Arvind Agarwal and DG Fire Services were dispatched to where the train crash occurred.
The Faculty of Medicine and all hospitals in and around Balasore have been put under surveillance. Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik also asked Revenue Minister Pramila Swain and Special Relief Commissioner Satyabrata Sahu to rush to the crash site and organize the rescue and aid operation.
West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee was saddened by what happened. “I was shocked to learn that the Shalimar-Coromondel express, which was carrying people from West Bengal, had an accident with a freight train near Balasore this evening.
Some of our outgoing people were seriously injured or killed as a result. We are working with Odisha Government and South East Railways to help our people,” Banrejee wrote on Twitter.
