NCAA Track & Field Championships End With DeMars 5K Arrival

AUSTIN, TEXAS. ~ The United States At the end of the third and final day of competition at the 2023 NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships, which took place at the University of Texas’ Mike A. DeMars’ 2023 campaign, which she capped off with a performance in Austin, is the one in which she earned second place in the 5K in Penn State’s competition annals. “We’re leaving Austin to score points for both sides for the first time since 2018, and we’re excited for what the future holds for the program,” the team said after the game. “We leave Austin scoring points on both sides.”

Mallory Kauffman’s sixth place finish in the shot put helped the Penn State women’s team finish the week with the fourth-highest point total in the Big Ten. That was thanks to Penn State coming to the shot put. It was the first time since the 2018 season that the women’s and men’s teams won points in the same league encounter. Both the women’s team and the men’s team finished fourth in their respective competitions.
