Mike Snyder was a 43 year old man from Albuquerque who was a master mechanic. Additionally, Mike graduated from high school in 1976 and soon attended automotive college.

Snyder was kind and generous and loved by everyone around him. Mike enjoyed skiing and using his jet boat. Additionally, he was living with his wife and daughter unless he was reported missing on January 11, 2002.

Snyder quickly made headlines for his mysterious disappearance, and at the time of his disappearance Mike was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis.

The missing case of Mike Snyder remained cold for about eight years until February 2010. Everyone was captivated by the knowledge of the case, and after eight years, in February 2010, the information brought investigators back to the Snyder house, which is currently owned by someone else.

They found Mike’s remains buried in a tarp in the garden of the house. An autopsy of the remains confirmed that Mike had been shot and killed.

Ellen, Mike’s wife, said she informed her family of Mike’s disappearance and tried to contact him several times, but did not hear from Mike for the next few months.

Mike Snyder’s case is a murder case; however, his wife Ellen led everyone to believe he was still alive unless the tip brought authorities back to the Snyders’ home, where Mike’s body was buried.

Similarly, an autopsy report confirmed bullet wounds on the body. On February 5, 2010, Mike’s wife Ellen was arrested for Mike’s death. The couple had a son who later said what he knew about the incident.

In Ellen’s statement, she recalled the events of that night, saying, “I start shooting…I shot at the wall. I shot the TV. I shot on the ground.

Their 17-year-old son attempted to call the police, but Ellen convinced him not to call and left Mike’s body in the hallway, covered in a duvet. Ellen hired a backhoe to dig a hole in her yard and forced her son, Michael, to help bury the body.

Additionally, Ellen pleaded guilty to intentional homicide with a firearm enhancement, tampering with evidence related to Michael’s death, and tax evasion.

Where is Ellen Snyder now?

In the case of Mike Synder, Ellen Synder was sentenced to 11 years behind bars, which was the maximum sentence she could be sentenced to.

In 2018, Ellen was eligible for parole. Upon her release, Ellen reportedly returned to North Albuquerque Acres, where she reintegrated into society and lived a low-key life.

Further details regarding her current status remain unknown as Ellen has maintained great privacy in her life, and none of the media has covered any information regarding her current lifestyle.
