Ludovic Waeber, goaltender, signs with the Florida Panthers

SUNRISE, FLA. ~ Florida Panthers general manager Bill Zito announced today that the team has reached an agreement with goaltender Ludovic Waeber on a one-year, entry-level contract beginning in the 2023-24 season. Waeber, who was 26 at the time, played for the Swiss National League’s ZSC Lions in 2022-23. During that season, he appeared in 19 games and recorded two shutouts, a .914 save percentage and a 2.50 goals-against average.

The product from Fribourg, Switzerland, who weighs 176 pounds and is 6-foot-1, appeared in 115 National League competitions while playing for HC Fribourg-Gottéron (2012-13 and 2017-18 to 2019-20) and ZSC Lions (2020-21 to 2022-23) respectively. His .918 save percentage in the 2020-21 season ranked him fourth among National League goaltenders who have played at least 35 games this season. His save percentage in National League playoff games is .935, and he’s played in 19 of them in his career.
