Louisville Shooting Today – After filming in the Shelby Park area early Tuesday, three people were rushed to hospital. According to a news release from a representative of the Louisville Metro Police Department, it happened around 2:30 a.m. Officers were then dispatched to nearby S. Preston and Woodbine streets after receiving a ShotSpotter notification stating that bullets had been fired there.
After arriving at the scene, police searched for potential witnesses and evidence, but could not locate any victims or any evidence of activity. Officers were dispatched to University Hospital shortly after learning that three male victims – one adult and two minors – had been dropped off there and needed medical assistance.
A child victim, believed to be in his late teens, was treated for a gunshot wound that did not appear to be life-threatening, according to hospital officials, who later notified authorities. They also recommended that the adult and a second child, believed to be in his late teens, be discharged from hospital without receiving treatment. The casualties were linked to the initial run down S. Preston and Woodbine streets, according to investigators from the LMPD non-fatal shooting unit responding to the hospital.
