Lakaria Moore, 18, killed ‘by someone she thought loved her’, Texas family says

Lakaria Moore, Dead – Texas authorities are looking for a woman who was last seen at 18 and a man accused of killing her. The male is 39 years old. According to the Lubbock Police Department, Lakaria Moore’s body was found in East Lubbock on Monday, May 22, a day after she was reported missing and in danger. The day before, she had been reported as being in danger.

Moore was last seen alive with 39-year-old Christopher Carter, whose vehicle ultimately contained her body, police say. Carter is suspected by the Lubbock Police Department of being responsible for the death of the 18-year-old woman. It is not known what caused his death. As of Tuesday, no arrests had been made in connection with the murder charge against Carter.

According to a GoFundMe page, Moore’s daughter allegedly claimed she was murdered “by someone she thought loved her.” “No parent should ever have to put their child down to rest. Ladesia Dial mentioned it in the GoFundMe campaign saying, “It’s supposed to be the other way around.” According to KAMC, Moore’s mother had called Carter before finding out about her daughter’s death to determine whether or not she was with him. “His voice sounded a little different than normal,” Dial told the broadcaster. “He seemed to be going through a tough time.” Anyone who may know Carter’s whereabouts is asked to call the Lubbock Police Department at 806-741-1000. About 350 miles north of Dallas is Lubbock in the Texas Panhandle.
