Kobe Bryant’s wife, Vanessa Bryant, has been awarded a $1.5 million attorney in a proxy fight with Kobe Inc. past president for her late husband’s funding of the sports drink company BodyArmor.
TMZ reported that the fight began in 2019, six months before Kobe lost his life, when Kobe Inc. president Molly Carter claimed that the basketball star promised her a share of the revenue he made from his BodyArmor funding.
Kobe paid $6 million for a 10 percent stake in BodyArmor in 2013, before Coca-Cola bought it for $5.6 billion several years later. The sale netted Kobe $400 million in funding.
Drama erupted when Molly claimed Kobe promised her 2% of the $400 million, something Kobe denied.
Molly sued, and Vanessa entered as much as defended the case, further adding a counterclaim against Molly, accusing her of violating the loyalty and disparagement clause she signed as part of her employment contract.

Vanessa accused Molly of violating the settlement by making her household enjoyable, and he or she included several instances of the ugly phrases that were allegedly made about Kobe and even herself.
Vanessa claims Molly, known as Kobe, is “iron”, a “cock gag” and a “douche nugget”. She further claimed that Molly specifically referred to her as a “devil”, “b**ch” and “PSYCHO”. Molly further stated that Vanessa’s new daughter had “Botox lips”.
Vanessa also cited an alleged remark Molly made when she went to NBA All-Star entertainment throughout her tenure. Molly reportedly grumbled that there had been “a lot of posh black people” on the plane she was on.
Vanessa won the authentic lawsuit and her counterclaim after the case went to arbitration. She won $1.5 million in charges for a lawyer.
In authorized documents obtained by TMZ, Kobe’s authorized workforce has asked the Orange County Superior Court to uphold the arbitration award.
BodyArmor, which markets itself as a healthier sports drink, was Bryant’s first funding from Kobe Inc.
When Bryant first invested in BodyArmor, he informed Bodyarmor founder Mike Repol, who was also the founder of VitaminWater and SmartWater, that he wanted to be closely involved.
Kobe’s $6 million in funding for BodyArmor netted him $400 million after the company was bought by Coca-Cola.

Wanting to focus specifically on the model’s advertising and artistic components, Bryant created the company’s first television commercial.
The NBA legend wrote, directed and narrated the black-and-white commercial titled Obsession is Natural, which featured athletes who look like James Harden and Mike Trott.
“I love storytelling and have been active in my campaigns throughout my career,” Bryant said. Fox business when the ad was released in April 2017.
“As an investor in BodyArmor, I add additional value to the model. I can provide an artistic voice – as an athlete – to give the product a true and believable voice.
In January 2020, Kobe died along with his daughter Gianna (13) in a tragic helicopter crash that killed all 9 on board. He was 41 years old.
