KC landlord’s properties were auctioned off after lawsuit. Here’s who bought them

The bidding closed Wednesday in a court-ordered auction of Kansas City landlord Oliver Abnos’ properties.

In 2021, Abnos misplaced a lawsuit and subsequent attraction in a case through which a tenant mentioned she had been sexually assaulted by one among Abnos’ upkeep employees. The choose awarded the tenant $2 million. After Abnos did not pay, a receiver was appointed to take management of his belongings. (Some of the buildings were deserted. Others nonetheless had industrial and residential tenants, who have continued to pay lease to the receiver.)

Mayo Auctions and Realty divided 44 properties into 12 teams that were auctioned over the previous month. Here are the successful bidders and the costs they paid:

3515 and 3521 Forest Ave. (fire-damaged single-family house and vacant lot): Yoli Sanchez of A & R Realty LLC, $157,751.00

1115 E. Armour Blvd.; 3512, 3520 and 3524 Forest Ave.; 3539 Troost Ave. (former Marquette Club and vacant tons): Connor Sweeney of J.C. Sweeney Holdings LLC, $363,500
