Kadan Rabender, North Pocono HS died in a car accident near Route 307

Death of Kaden Rabender – The teenager killed in a violent collision near Route 307 in Lackawanna County on Saturday morning has been identified. A Jeep Station Wagon was traveling along Highway 307 in Spring Brook Township, Lackawanna County, on Saturday around 5:55 a.m. when the vehicle veered off the roadway and crashed down a steep embankment, causing the passenger , a 17-year-old named Kadan. Rabender, to be ejected and the vehicle to catch fire. This information was provided by Lackawanna County Coroner Tim Rowland.

Following multiple life-threatening injuries, Rabender, a student at North Pocono High School, was pronounced dead at the scene. On Saturday morning, crews from Rescue and Tanker 14, along with EMS, provided assistance to Covington Independent Fire Company and Moscow Fire and Hose Company as they worked to extinguish the fire and perform a rope rescue. This assistance lasted three hours.

According to Pennsylvania State Police, no information is available regarding the driver’s condition of the vehicle and the reason for the collision is not known at this time. PSP opened an investigation into the causes of the crash at that time.
