Joel Embiid marries Sports Illustrated model Anne de Paula at the Hamptons ceremony

Joel Embiid’s big year may have had its biggest day yet.

The 2023 NBA MVP and Philadelphia 76ers star tied the knot with longtime partner Anne de Paula in Southampton on Saturday afternoon.

The two took pictures together on Cryder Beach and officially got married in a church ceremony.

Rumors swirled in 2018 that Embiid was in a relationship with the Sports Illustrated model, which was later confirmed.

In one of his toughest moments in the league when the 76ers were eliminated by the Toronto Raptors in the 2019 Eastern Conference Finals on a buzzer-beater from Kawhi Leonard, de Paula was there to support the big man.

The two share a son together, Arthur, who was born on September 16, 2020.

“When Arthur sees him, there’s no one else in the room. It’s the most beautiful thing ever,” de Paula told ESPN in 2021.

Embiid tied the knot on Long Island, but it’s not the first time the 7-foot center has been linked with New York this year.

In an interview earlier this offseason, Embiid hinted that he would love to win an NBA title “anywhere.”

“I just want to win a championship,” Embiid said.

” Everything that’s necessary. I don’t know where it’s going to be, whether it’s Philadelphia or anywhere else, I just want a chance to accomplish this.

Shortly after those comments, ESPN’s Zach Lowe and Dave McMenamin teased the possibility of the six-time All-Star teaming up with the Knicks.

“I mean line up the Acela Express and send it to New York,” McMenamin said in an episode of Lowe’s The Lowe Post podcast.

“That’s been the whispers. (Lowe) said New York, we’ve all heard of New York, we know the connection between Leon Rose and Joel Embiid.

“We also know, quite frankly, that Daryl Morey walked into a situation that was largely set up before him and he will continue to shape this team the way he wants it to look like.”

Embiid may not have an NBA championship ring yet, but he definitely does a ring after Saturday’s ceremony.
