Jennifer Lopez’s ‘awkward’ video about eating habits after Ben Affleck’s struggles with alcohol

Jennifer Lopez has left her followers “confused” after she shared a brand new Instagram video about her relationship with alcohol, saying she enjoys the “occasional cocktail” but didn’t get a “smell”.

The 53-year-old singer took to Instagram on Monday to post a lengthy clip defending herself against critics who slammed her for outing her alcoholic model Delola, despite previously admitting she doesn’t drink.

JLo looked her typical gorgeous self in a camel colored sleeveless jumpsuit with a high collar and a zip entry.

The mother-of-two wore oversized sunglasses, hoop earrings and a personalized gold necklace as she addressed her 248 million followers.

“So I’m on my way to sneak out and get Dellola,” Jennifer began in the video.

“Some people come over the holiday weekend and I realized we don’t have any. I thought we would, but we don’t. So I’m going to the store to get it, hopefully they have it there,” she laughed .

Sitting in the front passenger seat of the moving vehicle, Jennifer continued: “I’m really excited, I love the holiday weekends, I love spending time with my family and friends and having a little cocktail.

“I know a lot of people have talked about, ‘Oh, she doesn’t even drink, what is she doing with a cocktail?’ And to tell you the truth, it was a long time, I did not drink.

“A few years ago, as you can see in various photos of me over the last 10, maybe 15 years, I had a cocktail every now and then.

‘I like a cocktail now and then. I drink responsibly, I don’t drink to be fooled. I drink to be social and have a good time and just to relax a bit and let loose a bit, but always responsibly,” she revealed.

“I have to say, I tried a lot of different things, cocktails, I liked the Belarusian at one point, I liked the pink, but I never found anything that I really liked, so like everything else in my life, I made it myself. .’

The On The Floor hitmaker filmed himself walking into a local liquor store and was delighted to find a few bottles of Delol.

The store owners, as well as other customers, realized who she was, were overjoyed and quickly asked to take pictures, even started playing her music.

However, some of Jennifer’s Instagram followers were less than impressed with the video, as her husband Ben Affleck is sober.

One person claimed in the comments section: “So awkward when she talks about drinking responsibly and not being ridiculed knowing her husband (suffered) years of alcoholism.”

Another person wrote: “I’m confused about her talking about booze and cocktails when her husband is an alcoholic… who’s going to recover?” It doesn’t make sense and I found it very confusing.

A third person commented: “So sad because her husband doesn’t drink why does she want to tell us?” Who cares… soon she’ll be promoting her cocktail in such weird ways and he doesn’t want those two.

A fourth follower mentioned: “Hmmm so confused by this video… and how does it help Ben?” and the fifth asked, “Why do you not respect your husband’s sanity?”

Others quickly jumped to Jennifer’s defense as one particular person fired back: “Why should she have to pay for her ex or current husband? Or his decision. She supports him and makes sure he is kept under control. But then again it is NOT her responsibility (sic).

“If she drinks occasionally or whenever she wants, she likes to take her stuff with her. It’s about balance,” they added.

“Her husband’s alcoholism has nothing to do with her. His sanity doesn’t depend on her or anyone else, another said angrily.

Ben, 50, has visited rehab several times over the years and has been open about his struggles with alcoholism.

In 2001, he was treated for addiction in a hospital and then remained sober for “a few years”.

In the years that followed, he refused to debate his alcoholism, later describing it as an interval when he “drinks relatively normally”.

The Good Will Hunting actor returned to rehab in 2017 and again in 2018 after a publicly documented relapse and intervention.

Ben received additional outpatient treatment the following year, but was filmed hobbling on a Los Angeles road in late 2019.

The next day he admitted he had had a quick ‘slip’ after more than a year of sober living and later described the incident as ’embarrassing’.

Meanwhile, Jennifer instructed beforehand In style that she believes alcohol “destroys your skin”.
