Books by Jade McGlynn
As mentioned above, Jade McGlynn opened two books, “Russia’s War” and “Memory Makers: The Politics of the Past in Putin’s Russia.”
She examines the causes of the Russian invasion of Ukraine in 2022 in her book Russia’s War. Jade states that it was not only Putin’s war but also Russia’s war, supported by a significant part of the population that was under the influence of a toxic concoction of fear, social racism, historical nationalism and apathy.
In another book, McGlynn studies how Putin’s leadership twisted history to justify his actions and policies and how this impacted Russia’s relations with the West and its neighbors.
Both books offer a sophisticated and insightful examination of Russia’s goals and challenges in the 21st century and are based on extensive research and interviews with prominent Russians.
