He was the Brumbies vice-captain in Super Rugby and played mainly as an open flanker. Pocock worked as an environmentalist and social justice advocate after his retirement.

He campaigned as an independent candidate for one of the two Australian Capital Territory Senate seats in the 2022 Australian federal election.

He defeated incumbent liberal Zed Seselja, breaking the two main party duopoly in the ACT senatorial delegation that had existed since which gave the territory senatorial representation in 1975.

Pocock was born on April 23, 1988. He is the eldest of three boys born to Jane (née Ferguson) and Andy Pocock.
