Inside Phillip Schofield’s relationship with his daughters Molly and Ruby who stand by his side amid the shame of the affair

PHILLIP Schofield has revealed his daughters are supportive of him despite his affair scandal.

The ‘broken and ashamed’ former TV presenter has revealed he wouldn’t be here without his daughters Molly, 29, and Ruby, 27.

Schofield, 61, told The Sun exclusively that he was on a bad streak before insisting he was not a groomer following his relationship with a teenage runner this morning.

The man who is clearly on the brink said: ‘I’m in a really bad place. Mentally, completely, completely broken.

“And if it hadn’t been for my girls last week, I wouldn’t be here.

“I know I deserve it but they said, ‘Don’t dare, we’re here to take care of you’. I feel embarrassed and ashamed.

“I just felt like I was going lower and lower and lower. And then this weird numbness overwhelms you, like selfishness.

“I had years like ***, and with that ultimate final cataclysm, I didn’t look past anything and the girls said, ‘Don’t do this, we’re here to take care of you. Don’t you dare do it under our watch.”

“And that took me one step back and they won’t leave me alone. They were guarding me.

It comes after he was hanged, lured and confined on social media following news of his affair with a much younger colleague.

He cheated on his wife and repeatedly lied to family, friends and colleagues at ITV.

He is now off all social media and has deleted everything from his phone.

The ex-presenter has made it clear how close he is with the girls after coming out as gay in 2020.

Phil – who has been married to wife Stephanie Lowe since 1993 – broke down in tears as he discussed their reaction on This Morning.

During an interview with former co-host Holly Willoughby, he said: “It wasn’t easy (to tell my girls). But they are so amazing in their love and support. They jumped up and gave me a hug, a big hug, a long hug. They hugged Steph and said, “It’s okay, it’s okay.”

“We will always be a family. Always, the four of us, that’s what we call ourselves.

Their continued support comes as no surprise despite Phillip’s admission of years of “cheating”.

The family used to attend parties together and jet off on fabulous vacations.

Before Covid, they all went to the Maldives and shared many photos of their family time together.

Phillip used to miss This Morning during school holidays – even though they’re adults – to make sure he could be with them as much as possible.

He previously revealed that they are real daddy’s girls as he always pays their phone bills on the condition that they keep in touch with him.

He said: ‘I pay my two daughters’ phone bills and I pay them on the absolute condition of being kept up to date at all times.

“As soon as they shut up I tell them they’re going to have to pay and it’s amazing how quickly they get in touch.”
