Sheridan Lupo, a senior police officer with the Chattanooga Police Department, died suddenly yesterday, and the entire Hamilton County community is in mourning. For the past 14 years, MPO Lupo has provided our community with service marked by dedication and commitment. Sheriff Austin Garrett and the rest of the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office deputies and staff offered their condolences at the news of DFO Ludo’s passing.
Additionally, Mayor Tim Kelly expressed his sadness over the passing of Senior Police Officer Lupo saying, “Very saddened to hear this news.” He was a committed public servant with many years of experience, and his absence will be deeply felt and his presence will be deeply missed. During this difficult time, our thoughts and prayers are with his family and all those who are dear to him.
A GoFundMe account has been set up by Chris Mullinix, the head of one of the police unions, to help cover bills associated with the death of MPO Lupo. MPO Lupo’s family and colleagues have received an outpouring of support from a significant number of people in the area. “Our hearts and prayers go out tonight to the family, friends and co-workers of Officer Sheridan Lupo of the Chattanooga Police Department,” the Soddy-Daisy Police Department wrote in an online post. Officer Lupo was killed in the line of duty while serving with the Chattanooga Police Department. “You, sir, were an outstanding member of the force.”
DFO Lupo will be remembered as an excellent public servant whose dedication to upholding departmental values, protecting residents, and preserving peace and order was unparalleled. It is obvious that his absence will be felt throughout the community for many years to come.
