South Christine Avenue – The victim of a shooting that took place early Saturday morning in the 100 block of South Christine Avenue is currently in critical condition and the culprit has been taken into custody. A report by Lt. Tim Suits of the Anchorage Police Department says police were dispatched to the scene in response to a shooting around 10 a.m.
Cops found Joshua Andrew Arnold of Anniston, whose age has not been revealed, lying inside the property when they arrived. Arnold was first taken to Northeast Alabama Regional Medical Center, but was later transferred to Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta by helicopter. At the time the APD made details of the incident available to the public, Arnold’s health was described as critical.
The incident that led to the shooting allegedly began with a physical confrontation between the attacker and the victim. At the scene, the suspect, identified as Tristen Clay Arnold, 20, of Panama City, Florida, was taken into custody. The suspect introduced himself as the victim’s cousin and said he was in Anniston visiting other members of the victim’s family.
Tristen Clay Arnold has been taken into custody and is being investigated for first degree assault. He is currently being held at Calhoun County Jail, where bail has yet to be set. According to the APD, the investigation is still ongoing and there is currently no further information available.
