Gunman who shot a man outside Portsmouth daycare is sentenced to 18 years

PORTSMOUTH — A man who fatally shot one other man outside a daycare heart final yr was sentenced Tuesday to 18 years in jail.

Ryheem Jasaun Hargrow Pugh was discovered responsible after a February jury trial of second-degree homicide and two firearm expenses.

Rocco Marcus Nixon, who had kids that attended Gifted Minds Academy on King Street, was killed June 1 outside the middle.

According to prosecutors, Hargrow Pugh drove to the middle that morning with the mom of Nixon’s kids, in addition to the youngsters. Nixon, 34, drove up in a separate car. The two males bought out of their automobiles, and Hargrow Pugh, 22 on the time, fired a number of pictures at Nixon. He was later pronounced useless at a hospital.
