Golf expert avoids Scottie Scheffler at Los Angeles CC in 2023 US Open odds, top picks, predictions, pitch

CALIFORNIAN, USA. ~ Several famous Californians are hoping to win the 2023 US Open, which begins Thursday at the Los Angeles Country Club. Collin Morikawa of Los Angeles has two major titles, while Max Homa of Burbank wants one. The city hasn’t hosted a major tournament since the 1948 US Open in Riviera, but this is the state’s third US Open in five years. The 2023 US Open field includes 2021 Torrey Pines winner Jon Rahm. Viktor Hovland (10-1) and Rory McIlroy (11-1) follow Scottie Scheffler (13-2), Rahm (8-1) and Brooks Koepka (17-2). The 2023 US Open favorites are Patrick Cantlay (14-1), Homa (16-1), Xander Schauffele (18-1) and Morikawa (25-1). Check out PGA predictions and best bets from golf and fantasy betting specialist Sia Nejad before making any decisions about the 2023 US Open. Nejad bets and plays DFS golf. He excels in absolute betting, first-round leaders and head-to-head betting. Before winning his first PGA Tour title at Quail Hollow, he backed Wyndham Clark 75-1 at Wells Fargo.

Nejad has won six first-round leaders in 12 weeks in 2022 and multiple tournaments. “The Early Wedge,” Sportsline’s 2023 show, has two FRLs and three outright winners in its first three months. In eight out of 10 weeks, Nejad has won one-on-one matches, including tournament sweeps. He gained over 70 units in three months. Nejad picked his top bets, sleepers and favorites to avoid for the 2023 US Open. SportsLine lists his picks. Despite being the best player in the world, Nejad trails Scottie Scheffler. The 26-year-old’s shots won as he finished 148th on the circuit, costing him recent triumphs. Scheffler hasn’t won since the March Players Championship. He lost the most shots on the green at the Memorial and wasted 13 in his last two rounds. “I just can’t bet on him with such low numbers,” Nejad told SportsLine.

However, Nejad appreciates Patrick Cantlay as he comes out with huge disappointments. The 31-year-old is fifth on the tour in scoring average, first in total driving and eighth in regulation greens. The highest-ranked player without a major title, six of his eight career wins have come in the past two seasons. Cantlay has seven top-10 finishes, including ninth in the PGA. Nejad expects to improve his major performances, which have been average. See who’s backing here. Nejad’s picks at the 2023 US Open include a 50-1 longshot. The golfer’s results “continued on a positive trajectory”, and the analyst expects a strong run. SportsLine has only its picks at US Open 2023.
