Emmerdale star reveals Tom’s role in “dark” special episode

Emmerdale star James Chase has revealed his character Tom King’s role in upcoming “dark” special episode.

Next week, the cleaning soap will air a special episode involving a cocktail party hosted by Tom and Belle, that can give a brand new perception into their relationship, in addition to Marlon and Rhona’s marriage.

The episode, which can air on Tuesday, May 7, will present two completely different views on the identical ceremonial dinner, with the primary half highlighting Marlon and Rhona’s escalating battle, as their marital points are aired in entrance of the opposite friends.

Chase has revealed that the episode, notably in the scenes after the opposite friends have left, permits viewers “to see the dark reality of [Tom and Belle’s] relationship come to light”.

Speaking concerning the special episode, he mentioned: “It’s going to be a very interesting and different one for sure. We get to see two storylines from different relationships come to an intense peak. Having them collide like this makes for an exciting watch, though perhaps a difficult one.

“The construction of the episode may be very completely different, however we knew the subject material was going to be tough to tug off, so I type of instantly centered on hitting the tone of it proper, to make sure what occurs later feels plausible.”

Emmerdale airs on weeknights at 7.30pm on ITV1, and streams on ITVX.
