Elton John’s look at Glastonbury’s main pyramid stage tonight is likely to be his last walk on British soil before he retires, but it certainly won’t be the last we hear from the Rocket Man.
It looks like the 76-year-old is already planning new business ventures, as I can reveal that he has registered his personal identity for various assignments, as well as clothing, jewelry and film and TV features.
Sir Elton, who surprisingly had not previously produced his identity document, had his regulatory agency submit the file to the Intellectual Property Office, which is currently examining the device. Lessons in paperwork vary from canes to mouse pads and even pet collars and leashes.
Perhaps it’s starting to think that Sir Elton and his husband David Furnish, 60, recently bought a pet black Labrador called Jacob.
Elton John’s look on the main stage at Glastonbury’s Pyramid tonight is likely to be his last UK stint before he retires, but it’s unlikely to be the last we hear from the Rocket Man.
It’s perhaps fitting, considering Sir Elton and his husband David Furnish, 60, recently bought a black Labrador called Jacob.
Announcing the pet’s arrival on Instagram, David revealed that the adorable young pup is being cared for by their son, saying: “Zachary and Elijah are co-dads to little Jacob and are proud to announce that Elton and I are.. erm.. grandparents! ‘
But new business ventures and a puppy aren’t the only things in the couple’s future, as David tells me the pair plan to jet off to the South of France after Glastonbury for some much-needed rest and relaxation. Tonight’s performance is the latest in Sir Elton’s Goodbye Yellow Brick Road tour, which began in Pennsylvania in September 2018 and has spanned over 300 shows. “It’s going to be so different this time because there are no post-holiday gigs,” David tells me. “It’s exciting.”
Sir Elton has created a brand new gift for Glastonbury, starting with a tune he hasn’t performed in a decade, although he hasn’t revealed which one. He will even be joined by 4 thriller attendees, fueling the rumor mill. Fans have been pushing for names alongside Dua Lipa, Britney Spears, Harry Styles, Kylie Minogue and even Taron Egerton, who performed with Sir Elton in Rockman’s biopic and was seen at the Worthy Farm yesterday.
We’ll find out soon enough!
