Dr. Anthony Fauci, chief medical adviser and longtime director of the Biden White House The National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases will be teaching some of its hard-earned lessons to college students to deal with the Covid pandemic.
Starting in July, Dr. Fauci will become a “distinguished college professor” in the Georgetown Department of Medicine’s Department of Infectious Diseases for an as-yet-unpaid fee.

“I am delighted to join the Georgetown family,” Fauci said in a press release with the college, “an institution steeped in clinical and academic excellence with an emphasis on the Jesuit tradition of public service.”
“It is a natural extension of my scientific, clinical and public health career,” he said, “which was originally built on my high school and college years, where I was exposed to the intellectual rigor, integrity and service of Jesuit institutions.”.
dr. Fauci, whose net worth is estimated to be more than $12 million, has been highly divisive throughout his response to the pandemic. Critics slammed him for exaggerating the effectiveness of vaccines to improve uptake, turning face masks and blocking.
Last month Dr. Fauci gave a commencement speech to the graduates of Yale School of Medicine, which will have earned him between $50,000 and $100,000, largely based on the charges she illustrated in leading motivational speakers.

By the time he retired 12 months ago, Fauci, 82, had spent more than half a decade in public service and had advised every US president since Ronald Reagan.
Since becoming a member of the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in 1968, Fauci served as director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases for more than 40 years. There, Fauci’s career was marked by his work on the HIV and AIDS disaster and later the Covid-19 pandemic.
In the 1980s, Fauci became a target of activists who sharply criticized the Ronald Reagan administration and him for being too gradual in the fight against AIDS and leaving government resources behind its remedies.
As a first mover in America’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic, he became a polarizing figure as a lightning rod for every criticism and reward, but he is arguably the first mover in infectious disease coverage of the US pandemic.
In a press release announcing the nomination, Georgetown President John J. DeGioia said, “We are deeply honored to have Dr. Anthony S. Fauci, a dedicated public servant, humanitarian and visionary leader in global health, at Georgetown.”
