Sowetan reported in July 2020 that the legendary actress has taken a break from her role as Koko Mantsha since the soap opera began airing in 2011. The educational soap opera told the publication that Mokgokoloshi is still making regular appearances on the show, although viewers will see it less often on screen.

Lydia Mokgokoloshi (born 27 September 1939) is a South African actress best known for her roles as the mother of Koko Mantsha and Charity Ramabu and Katlego (Kat) and Joseph (Jojo) in the SABC 1 soap opera Skeem Saam Grandmother. She is best known for her role as Mma Nkwesheng in the 1980s drama Bophelo ke Semphekgo.

She was born in a small village called BOTLOKWA on the outskirts of Polokwane. Before assuming this role, she was a teacher.

She is best known for her role as the evil and brutal stepmother Mma Nkwesheng in the hit Pedi TV series “Bophelo ke semphekgo”. She has also acted in many TV series such as Ngwanaka Okae, Muvhango and currently Skeem Saam.
