UNCASVILLE, CONNECTICUT. ~ This year, the 10th Annual Invesco QQQ Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame Showcase will be held at Mohegan Sun Arena on Sunday, December 10, and will feature a showdown between the University of Connecticut Women’s Basketball Team and the University of North Carolina Tar Heels. UConn’s overall meet record against North Carolina is 7-5. The last time these two teams met was on January 16, 2012 at Storrs. The Huskies have prevailed over the Tar Heels in each of the last five contests between the two teams. After finishing with a 22-11 record last year, including a berth in the NCAA Tournament, UNC is coming off an impressive season.
A game between Florida State and UCLA, as well as a game between South Carolina and Utah, will also take place during the Showcase. The schedules of the games as well as the specificities of their television broadcasts will be made public at a later date. Before tickets are made available to the general public, UConn donors and season ticket holders will have the opportunity to purchase tickets through a presale reserved for them. The general public will be able to buy tickets from Friday, September 8.
UConn’s non-conference schedule for the 2023-24 season will also include games against previously announced opponents such as Ball State (home), Dayton (home; originally scheduled for the 2020-21 season), Louisville (home ), Maryland (home), Notre Dame (home), Minnesota (on the road), NC State (on the road), South Carolina (on the road), and Texas (on the road). Additionally, the Huskies are slated to compete in the first-ever Cayman Islands Women’s Basketball Tournament, where they will play two games.
