Arizona International Film Festival supporter Donovan Durband Tucson has died

Death of Donovan Durband – Donovan Durband (CAPP), the Administrator for the Park Tucson Division of the City of Tucson Department of Transportation and Mobility, has died unexpectedly. It was announced via social media posts. According to reports, Donovan Durband died last weekend. Donovan went out of his way countless times to help anyone who needed his expertise and advice. He did it without needing recognition.

Friends and colleagues have posted on his Facebook page about the incredible impact he has had on their career development and on the city of Tucson. “So sad to hear of the passing of Donovan Dean Durband. More excellent and truly involved Tucsonians than him are rare indeed. He will be sorely missed. Sincere condolences to his family and friends.” So far no information official statement of his cause of death has not been released.

Who was Donovan Durband?

Donovan has long been part of the SWPTA Southwest Parking and Transportation Association (SWPTA) representing Park Tucson. He hosted one of SWPTA’s biggest mid-year occasions in March 2019. Donovan was able to showcase his operation and band (photos are from Park Tucson Mid-Year).

Donovan Durband, acting director of the Tucson Downtown Alliance, is optimistic enough about the return of the 30-block business district core that he plans to recruit new businesses to locate there. Donovan was born in Holland, Michigan and lived in Tucson, Arizona. He graduated from Holland High School. After high school, Donovan continued his studies at the University of Arizona. He was married to the love of his life, Erin Durband.

Donovan was the former staff member of council member Steve Kozachik at the city of Tucson – government. Without a doubt, he left a lasting impression on his community and SWPTA. He was not so to speak a dynamic member of the board of directors, but he has also served as secretary of the SWPTA and president of the SWPTA since January 2022. The SWPTA was eagerly waiting for Donovan to consider being president of the SWPTA for another year.
