Accused thief eats cereal on CCTV during alleged burglary at home in Teesdale, Victoria

A suspected burglar has been caught on security footage strangely eating a bowl of cereal at the home of a household he allegedly broke into and robbed.

A man entered a home in Teesdale, near Geelong, on Thursday and allegedly stole $5000 worth of jewelery and two jet skis worth $15,000.

Mother-of-two Lexi Hearn claimed her late grandmother’s gold necklace was among the many pieces of jewelery taken.

She clarified that CCTV footage confirmed that the person was entering her property and looking into many rooms, including the bedrooms and the toilet.

He then walks into the kitchen at one level and picks up a bowl of cereal with milk.

CCTV shows the dark-haired man wearing a white T-shirt and a face mask pulled under his chin, eating from a bowl and making noises.

“Oh, yum,” you hear him say.

He then turns to the digital camera and makes airplane noises as he continues to eat.

Ms Hearn said her security cameras captured “an absolute idiot breaking in”.

“This person just randomly walked into our house, helped us eat and into our bathroom and just took off with our things,” she informed. Geelong Advertiser.

“Then he drinks his bowl and puts it down.

“Before you know it, he’ll be hitching a trailer and taking off on our jet skis.”

She added that it was frightening that a person had broken down during the day.

The girl described the kingdom she lives in as “pretty quiet” and said the theft was “the first time I’ve heard of something like this happening here in years.”
