PENNSYLVANIA — The York County Coroner’s Office said the victim was Lourdes Ramos Baez, 67, from Dover Borough. North York County Regional Police have charged a suspect with murder, abuse of a corpse and other crimes in connection with the death of a 67-year-old Dover woman whose body was found on Tuesday after -noon. William Emilio Torres Gautier, 42, was arrested around 2 p.m. Tuesday by police who were called to the first block of South Main Street due to a fight. York County Coroner Pamela M. Gay said in a news release that a 67-year-old woman from Dover was found dead at 2:19 p.m. in a house on the first block of South Main Street in the arrondissement. It looked like she had been hurt in more than one way.
Gay said police have yet to say who the victim was. The story is being investigated by North York County Regional Police. A neighbor told the police that a woman at home asked him to call the police. When the police arrived, they found Gautier in the back of the house with a woman and two young children. According to police, as they spoke to Torres, one of the officers noticed the woman making signs that she needed help.
While the officers were talking to the woman, Gautier reportedly intervened and pushed a piece of wooden fence at them, hitting one of them. According to the police, after a short fight, he was arrested. According to the police, the woman told them that her mother was inside the house and needed help. Police said when they entered the house they found the 67-year-old victim dead in a second-floor bedroom.
“Subject was injured in multiple ways. Northern York County Regional Police Chief David Lash said: ‘We are still investigating what the motive was and why this happened. Police say Gautier is also charged with aggravated assault on law enforcement officers, threatening terrorism, resisting arrest and criminal mischief. He is also charged with criminal homicide and abuse of a corpse. The name of the deceased has still not been released by authorities.
